Just Plain Tired

Have you ever been there?
Your body sinks into the chair
As though it were made of butter,
And you just don’t have the energy,
To even raise an arm.

Your chest feels as though flattened,
All the air has been let out,
Even lifting your eyelids is a chore.
There are things that need doing,
But they will just have to wait.

Or maybe she’s tired of being put down,
Tired of being ignored,
Tired of being in pain,
Tired of being alone,
As for me, I’m just plain tired.

Talk to me, I'd love to hear what you have to say.
